Coffs Harbour

We visited Coffs Harbour in July 2025 and lucked out with perfect winter weather — sunny 22‑degree days and cool, comfortable mornings and nights. The kids spent hours between the beach and the resort pool, which felt like a bonus in the middle of winter.

Day 1 — Arrival
We checked into Pacific Bay Resort and headed straight to the beach. It was quiet, calm, and almost completely empty — the kind of spot where you feel like you’ve stumbled onto your own little stretch of coastline.

After the beach, we headed back to our apartment and sank into the hot tub before dinner — the perfect way to warm up and unwind after a long day of travel and salty hair.

Day 2 — Morning
We kicked off the day with a simple eggs‑and‑bacon breakfast, then headed out while the air was still crisp. The walk along the Coffs Harbour Marina is an easy warm‑up, but the climb up Muttonbird Island hits you fast — steep, windy, and totally worth it. No whales this time, but the lookout still delivered those big, wide‑open ocean views that make you stop talking for a minute. A pretty solid way to start the day.

After our walk, we made our way to The Big Banana for a dose of classic family fun. The kids took mini golf way too seriously, we all flew down the giant slides, and the dodgem cars turned into a full‑blown battle. A chaotic, hilarious stop — exactly what we needed.

Day 2 — Afternoon
The boys headed off to play a round at Pacific Bay Resort — a relaxed 9‑hole, par‑3 course that’s perfect for an easy afternoon hit. Meanwhile, the girls made a beeline for the beach for more swimming and sunshine. A split‑up, meet‑back‑later kind of afternoon that worked perfectly for everyone.

Day 3 — The Last Morning
The boys were back out on the Pacific Bay Resort course first thing, squeezing in one more relaxed round before we hit the road. Meanwhile, the rest of us packed up slowly and enjoyed the last bit of that winter sunshine.

After golf, we made one final stop at The Big Banana — because apparently once isn’t enough. We tried a few of the activities we’d missed the first time and let the kids burn off every last bit of energy before the drive home.

A simple, fun final day that wrapped up the trip perfectly.
